I'm sorry for taking such a long hiatus, fam.

Saying that a lot has happened these past few years is an understatement, especially in light of the horrors we are witnessing daily on a global scale. Despite having had to deal with some of the worst and most challanging experiences of my life, Music has once again worked her magic and kept me sheltered from the worst. Although we cannot undo what has happened to us, every day that we can outlive our trials is another day to take a step forward.

Working on this arrangement really helped me come out of a dark place. So this one goes out to those who endure their fight -- secretly. Those who smile through life, loss and trauma, but refuse to seek any kind of outside help. It is not your fault: we have been wrongly taught to measure our strength by how much pain we can conceal, and we've been conditioned to feel ashamed to ask for help -- but there is really no shame in letting the people we love in. It's okay not to be okay, sometimes it's the only thing that allows us to measure the depth of our sorrow and actually do something about it. It's by becoming vulnerable with the people we love, or with the right professional to whom we entrust our mental health; by shedding the armor we wear against those who want to harm us and sharing the burden with those who see us for who we really are. It is by bringing the darkness into the light and wearing our scars as proud reminders of the hardships we have overcome that we are finally able to look into the eye of the Abyss... and smile at it.

If you ended up reading this far, please remember: You are seen.

You are not alone. You are still here. And we will keep on carrying that weight together.
